BBP Recording

With BBP recording, you'll move beyond simply monitoring temperature during preheating. The system automatically records precise preheating time and temperature data between batches.

Between Batch Protocol (BBP) Recording

Please ensure that you are using Firescope version 0.17.0 or higher, as this feature is only supported in the latest versions. You can download the most recent version from our website.

To use the Between Batch Protocol (BBP) recording feature, your Firescope subscription plan must be Medium or higher. To upgrade your plan to Medium, please refer to Plan and Billings.

Enabling BBP

  1. Click the Settings menu on the top menu bar.

  2. In the BBP settings section, enable BBP.

  3. Once BBP recording is turned on, you'll see the preheating time displayed in the top right corner.

  4. In this section, you can also set the maximum preheat recording time to 5 minutes, 15 minutes, or 30 minutes. This setting controls whether Firescope records the preheating phase before your roast. Adjust this based on your device’s specifications.

Recording Between Batch Protocol (BBP)

  1. Click Start Roasting.

  2. You'll see a ‘BBP Recording’ badge at the top and the preheating time on the right, confirming that BBP is being recorded. The current preheating data will be saved with your next roasting record. However, please note that you cannot save this preheating data separately.

Note: To view only background data, click the ‘Next Roast’ dropdown in the top right corner and check ‘Reference’.

  3. Click Start Roasting before you charge your beans. Proceed with your roast, and when you click ‘Complete’ in the top right, the preheating data recorded will be saved with your roast.

Checking BBP Records

Once a roast record including the preceding batch data has been successfully saved, you can view the Between Batch Protocol preheating record within the roast record itself, before the charge point.

As shown in the screenshot below, the dark gray area before the charge point highlights this roast’s preheating data.

Note: To turn off the display of this preheating record area, go to Chart Settings and uncheck ‘Show BBP.’
