The supported models include WxA (W1A, W6A, W15A, etc) . Your roaster must have a LAN port or the control tower as shown in the image below.
A 'cross LAN cable' is required for connecting to a Giesen roaster. Standard direct LAN cable will not work.
Configure the network for the relevant operating system.
For different versions of Windows, follow the steps below to adjust your network settings:
Window 7, 8: Start -> Control Panel -> Network and Sharing Center → Change adapter settings (left sidebar)
Window 10: Start -> Settings icon -> Network & Internet -> Change adapter options (left sidebar)
Window 11: Control Panel -> View network status and tasks under Network and Internet -> Change adapter settings (left sidebar)
Right-click the icon labeled "Local Area Connection" or "Ethernet" (may be displayed as 'Not connected' depending on the device), then select Properties from the menu.
In the Local Area Connection Properties window, select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click the Properties button.
A new window will appear where you can input the IP addresses for the roaster. Enter the required IP addresses as specified by your roaster's network setup.
In Firescope, go to the 'Machine' menu and click the 'Create' button.
Enter a nickname to easily identify your roasting machine.
Select the appropriate preset from the 'Preset' select box based on the instructions below.
Choosing the correct Giesen roaster preset:
If you have entered a Cropster code into the Giesen roaster for decimal integration, select Giesen WxA+
preset.
If no Cropster code is used, select Giesen WxA
preset for integration.
In the IP configuration table above, find your model and enter the matching Firescope IP. The port should remain at 102 unless you have specific instructions to change it.
If the setup is completed, you should start receiving temperature and sensor data within 10 seconds.
Double-check the IP address to ensure it was entered correctly.
Verify that the LAN cable connected to the PC is properly recognized; unplug and replug it if necessary.
For Giesen WxA (decimal) preset, try switching to the 'Giesen WxA' preset instead. Also, if any settings were manually adjusted, ensure they are correct.
If you need help connecting Giesen WxA, please contact Firescope for assistance.
