Roasting Process: This manual is designed with a real roasting scenario in mind, we recommend reading it thoroughly before you begin.
After preheating the roasting machine, go to the Firescope app and click on Start Roasting
to enter the roasting page.
When the temperature is close to the target temperature (within 10 degrees), press the Start
button. Roasting will begin, and the graph will display Bean Temperature (BT) and Environmental Temperature (ET).
When you reach the target charge temperature, the system will automatically record an input event as the BT begins to drop. Subsequently, the system will also record a turning point event when the BT temperature stops decreasing and starts to rise. If the input temperature is set incorrectly, you can reassign it by pressing the button on the right.
Red Line: ET (Environment Temperature) represents the air temperature in the area where beans do not come into contact, typically at the top of the roaster drum (note that this may not be supported by all roasting machines).
Green Line: BT (Bean Temperature) indicates the temperature in the lower part of the drum, where the beans are primarily located as the drum rotates.
Blue Line: BT RoR (Bean Temperature Rate of Rise) tracks the rate at which the BT temperature changes per hour, helping to predict future BT temperatures (similar to the dotted green line).
Yellow Line: ET RoR (Environment Temperature Rate of Rise) shows the rate at which the ET temperature changes per hour, used to predict future ET temperatures (similar to the dotted red line).
Refer to the graph's left, bottom, and right axis settings for more details.
You can record changes to pressure (burner) and airflow (damper) values during roasting by right-clicking your mouse. Additionally, events and operations can be easily recorded using the button in the upper right corner.
The end-of-drying event is marked at the default temperature setting, which can be adjusted in the graph settings.
Please manually check the 1st and 2nd crack events during roasting.
You can enter key details, notes, and green bean information on the right to keep records organized. These entries can also be searched on the roasting record page.
