# Reference Curve and Real-Time Temperature Comparison

## Setting a Reference Curve from the Roasting Record Page

1. Navigate to the **Roasts** page and find the record you want to use as a reference curve.
2. Click the vertical ellipsis (⋮) in the upper right corner of the records' page, then select `Set as reference`

3. The selected background curve will be displayed, allowing you to monitor and compare the real-time temperature differences with the previous batch during the roasting process.&#x20;

## Selecting or Changing the Reference Curve During an Ongoing Roast&#x20;

You can choose or switch the reference curve even while roasting or if a reference curve has already been selected.

1. On the Pre-roast or Roast page, please click on the “Click to select reference” placeholder within the Details tab.

2. Search for the desired roasting record.

3. To view the details of the Reference record, please click on the dropdown at the top right, and click “Reference.”
