Easyster (including Proaster)

This page provides instructions on how to connect the coffee roasting software, Firescope, with the Easyster roasting machine.

  1. In the Firescope main menu, click Machine.

  2. Click Add New Machine to open the dialog. Enter the machine's nickname. If your Easyster has an air pressure controller installed, select preset for Easyster w/ Air Pressure; otherwise, select preset Common MODBUS Serial.

  1. Click the Serial Port drop-down to select the correct port.

  • In Windows, it is usually a port other than COM1 and COM2. (COM3, COM4, ....).

  • On a Mac, a serial port in the format /dev/tty.usbserial-XXXXXXX.

If no ports are listed as options, select the appropriate driver for your operating system, restart the computer, and then try again.

  1. Click Add New Machine, then select the roasting machine. If set up correctly, the temperature should display in the bottom left corner within 10 seconds.
