1. Connecting to the Roaster

  • Connect the Probat roasting machine to the computer using a LAN cable.

  • Select the Options menu on the display panel to navigate to the options page.

  • In the Network section, set the Configuration field to Static and then enter the following values for the IP address, Subnet mask, Gateway address, and DNS server fields.

2. Network Configuration

Configure the network for the relevant operating system.

For different versions of Windows, follow the steps below to adjust your network settings:

  • Window 7, 8: Start -> Control Panel -> Network and Sharing Center → Change adapter settings (left sidebar)

  • Window 10: Start -> Settings icon -> Network & Internet -> Change adapter options (left sidebar)

  • Window 11: Control Panel -> View network status and tasks under Network and Internet -> Change adapter settings (left sidebar)

  1. Right-click the icon labeled "Local Area Connection" or "Ethernet" (may be displayed as 'Not connected' depending on the device), then select Properties from the menu.

  1. In the Local Area Connection Properties window, select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click the Properties button.

  1. A new window will appear where you can input the IP addresses for the roaster. Enter the required IP addresses as specified by your roaster's network setup.

3. Configuring Firescope

  1. In Firescope, go to the 'Machine' menu and click the 'Create' button.

  2. Enter a nickname to easily identify your roasting machine.

  3. Select Probat P3 from the 'Preset' select box based on the instructions below.

  4. For the network IP input field, enter 192.168.0.4

  1. If the setup is completed, you should start receiving temperature and sensor data within 10 seconds.

  2. If your Probat does not have options for controlling drum speed or air pressure, you can hide these options from the display. To do this, go to the Details tab in the dialog and turn off the items accordingly.
